 Prepositions: A preposition is a word that links some words in a sentence to other words in a sentence. These words usually indicate the place or position of whatever one is  talking about. For example, in English prepositions include: “for, in, on, at, over, against, beside, etc”. Igbo prepositions are a bit tricky and take some time to learn and get right.

In this lesson you will learn the prepositions for the following words: n’okpuru (under); ngafe (after), nebe (at and to) and tupu (before). Some more preposition words which you might find useful in Igbo include n’azụ (behind), onye otu (among or at somebody’s house or business), nime (in), isi (from), nime (in, to, on), nke (for), gbara aka (without), n’elu (on) and ụzọ (towards).

For instance:  “The dog is under the chair.” under is the preposition
